Slaying Demons and taking Names

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It would never be better than this. Better than him. Reyes was the apex. It was all downhill from here. He was heaven and hell at once, angel and demon. I wondered how long I could keep him. How long I could call him mine.

I know I probably say this about every freakn Charley Davidson book but fuck it...Best of the friggin series! Charley is just straight up awesome sauce, Reyes was his usual oh so sexy self and I just couldn't put this thing down! Ignored everyone in my house and delved into the world of Charley and the gang!

Last time we saw Charley she was in pretty bad shape, being the victim of torture by the hands of that evil bastard Earl Walker. Now its two months later and she's still licking her wounds, hasn't left her apartment since that horrific day and has become obsessed with....**gasp** the Home Shopping Network of all things. Although she has a case of PTSD she still hasn't lost her sarcastic, and amusing quips. Cause come on....this is Charley we're talking about here!

"You're wrong. I'm not mad at myself. I'm great. I'm full of awesome sauce. Have you seen my ass?"

More drama ensues as we find out that in addition to her PTSD, mixed feelings for the enigmatic Reyes and Daddy issues, the Demons are coming for her. Earl's torture has changed Charlie dramatically, the once fearless vixen has since become terrified. So much so that she's not only become agoraphobic, but is sleep deprived and reeks of fear. Which is tantalizing to the Demons and are taking drastic measures to get her. Of course Reyes is having none of that as he hunts down the bastards responsible one filthy demon at a time.

In addition, Charley is taking on an intersting case, being hired by a girl who believes someone is trying to kill her. No one in her family believes her and this particular case hits home for Charley. The girl, Harper, is being stalked and has been terrorzied her entire life. Harper's bitchy and upitty stepmother harbors resentment toward the poor girl. As Charley investigates she begins to suspect the stepmother as the instigator in her plight.

“See. She is completely unstable. When she finally deigned us with her presence, she said she had been on the run for her life. Of all the ludicrous…” Mrs. Lowell shifted in irritation. “And now she hires a private investigator? She has gone over the edge.” I wrote the word psycho in my notebook, then scribbled it out before she saw. I was letting my own biases guide me on this case, and that would get me nowhere. Taking a mental step back, I took a deep breath and tried to see this from Mrs. Lowell’s perspective, as difficult as that might be. I didn’t often identify with rich bitches, but they were people, too. Weren’t they?

One of the things I loved most about this particular book was the progress of Charley and her sister Gemma. I love that the've reconciled and Gemma plays a big part in this one as she's trying to help Charley heal from her horrid ordeal. There were also some great dialog between the two especially the aftermath of the Maragita party she and Cookie had while trying to get Charley to get some rest.

Have you seen my pants?”

“Speaking of which, how did you get home without them?”

“I borrowed a pair of your sweats. I ran into a convenience store with them on. I talked to neighbors out in their yard when I pulled up. And only after I got inside did I realize they had ‘Exit Only’ written across the back.”

“You stole my favorite sweats?”

“I wanted to die.”

“It’s weird that sweats would make you suicidal. I’d analyze the crap out of that if I were you.”

Charley and Cookie together are a riot! She's the perfect contrast to Charley and her humor and their banter is just priceless! One should always have a friend like Cookie....I just love her!

“So, how was your day?”

“Well, I was in a bank robbery, taken hostage by the Gentlemen Thieves, almost arrested as an accessory, and had one of the most interesting evenings of my life. Speaking of which, did you know the nectar of the gods is in my va-jay-jay?”

It really takes a special person to deal with Charley and her off the wall comments and crazy antics. I swear I'll die when this series has to end....

Now back to the real issue at hand...Reyes! Since our fuckalicous hunk is out of the slammer, he's not only taking down demons and watching Charley in the shadows. Finally in a position to claim his woman, our boys not pulling any punches.

“There is a fine line between love and hate, or haven’t you heard? Sometimes it’s hard to decipher exactly which emotion is strongest.”

I raised my chin. “I don’t love you either.”

He lowered his head and watched me from underneath his dark lashes. “Are you certain? Because the emotion pouring out of you every time I’m near you is certainly not disinterest.”

“That doesn’t mean it’s love.”

“It could be, I promise you. Take off that sweater and give me ten minutes, and you’ll believe beyond a shadow of a doubt you’re in love.”

There are lots of smexy interactions with Charley that just had me panting for more and Charley doesn't stand a chance against his charms. And who does she think she's fooling? She knows she can't resist Reyes...who the hell could or would in any capacity? I know I wouldn't.

“For one week, all I could think about was drinking margaritas--well, that and running my tongue along Reyes's teeth--but I didn't have salt--or Reyes's teeth. I'd also lacked the energy to leave my apartment to get some--or the desire to stoop low enough to beg Reyes to let me lick his teeth after what he did--so I could only wish for a margarita. And dream of Reyes's teeth."

All in all, fanfuckingtastic addition to the series! Losts of action, drama and a sex scene that had me panting like a schoolgirl! If you're a fan of the series, get your asses out there and get this book! It really is the best so far and each book just gets better and better! I am dying to get my hands on
Fifth Grave Past the Light. Charley and Reyes are the epitome of most epic couple eva!!

He turned onto his side, rested his head on an arm, and put a large hand across my belly. With a mischievous grin that transformed his handsome face into that of an angel’s, he asked, “Do you know where the gods keep their nectar?”

I narrowed my eyes in suspicion, and said, “No idea.”

His hand slid down my stomach and between my legs. I sucked in a sharp breath as he leaned in and whispered in my ear, “Let me show you.”

After two more explorations of our stamina, a shared roast beef sandwich, a shower, and another exploration of our stamina, we lay on my bed, entangled in sheets and towels. Reyes wrapped me in his arms and was almost asleep when I said, “Who knew that all this time the nectar of the gods was in my va-jay-jay?”

Fae Love, Mages and Claws...Oh My!

Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once he had scorched the world.

Once he had driven back overwhelming darkness.

Once he had loved with such passion, his name was legend...

Tairen Soul

Now a thousand years later, a new threat calls him from the Fading Lands, back into the world that had cost him so dearly. Now an ancient, familiar evil is regaining its strength, and a new voice beckons him - more compelling, more seductive, more maddening than any before.

As the power of his most bitter enemy grows and ancient alliances crumble, the wildness in his blood will not be denied. The tairen must claim his truemate and embrace the destiny woven for him in the mists of time.

Loudly, proudly, tairen sing, As they soar on mighty wings. Softly, sadly, mothers cry To sing a tairen’s lullabye.
~The Tairen’s Lament, Fey Nursery Rhyme

To me this book was awesome and I cannot believe Ive waited so feckn long to read it! Ranier scorched the world a thousand years ago, since the evil Eld Mages murdered is e'tan(mate of the heart). Now that he's recovered he soon finds his Shei’tan(truemate or soulmate). Which is unheard of since his Shei'tani is a mortal! War is upon them...Ranier can feel that the once extinct Mages of Eld are emerging and darkness will rein. The fae must do all that they can to prevent them from taking power!

Elysetta Baristoni, of Celeria has never been acecpted in her world! On her way to spinster status her parents are forcing her to marry the disgusting and conniving Den Brodson.

“Den?” Ellie repeated with dismay. Den Brodson, the butcher’s son, was a stuffed pork roast of a young man. And ever since his first wife had died in childbirth six months ago, he’d been following Ellie around like a starving hound on the trail of a juicy steak. He’d made a habit of catching her in dark corners, standing so close she could smell the reek of onions and bacon on him, and looking too intently down the neckline of her dresses as if he could see straight through the fabric to the soft curves beneath. His thick fingers were ever clutching at her arm, as if he had some right to her. She shuddered.

Ely...out of options since Den overpowers her after dinner and places a mark on her, she must marry the twerp! Fortunately for her she inadvertantly calls out to the Fey'Reisen and she soon finds out they she is his truemate or Shei'tani. Upon meeting Rain, she's terrified. He's the one who scorched the world afterall but he also stirs something in her and he becomes her salvation and vice versa.

Beautifully and fearfully wrought, by dread magic splendored, With passion’s fire his soul does burn, in sorrow his name be whispered. —from the epic poem Rainier’s Song by Avian of Celieria.

Now that Ely is promised to the snake of the fucking century, Den Brodson, Ely can't mate to Rain and he is pissed. Since he feels that fey law trumps Celeirian law, Ely is his. Being the last of the Tarien soul left and the only one to have a truemate its imperative that King Dorian and Queen Annora of Celeiria side with him. In addition, the tairen, magical, winged cats of the Fading Lands—had only one fertile female left in their pride, and she grew weaker by the day as she fed her strength to her six unhatched kitlings. According to the Eye of Truth, Ely is their last hope to cure the dying kitlings and save the pride.

I absolutely fell in love with this book! The dialog is beautiful and melodic and the story is fantastic. The characters are so intriguing and I just could not stop reading(or listening), Ha! If you're looking for a great fantasy/paranormal romance that you can sink you're teeth into then by all means, give this a go! You won't be sorry, I'm definitely going to fly through this series and will be doing a reread...thats for damn certain!

Ely starts out as a plain and dutiful daughter with an inner strength that she's at times afraid to show. Her mother is extremely close minded and prejudice against magic and all things fey. Since Ely has magic and is promised to the king of the fey she's in denial about her heritage and her magical abilities. But Rain soon brings her out of her shell and shows her that its ok to use magic and to not be afraid to be herself. Rain becomes enamored of Ely from the beginning and is extremely protective. He really goes to great lengths to see to her safety and most importantly her happiness. I just loved it!!

I loved the beautiful language of the fey and the politics are so intriguing! Really I cannot stress how much I love this book! I think, if you're a fan of fantasy novels and cute and mushy paranormal romances, then you'll just gobble this one up...I know I did! Oh!!! And did I mention that I loved the POV of the villians in the story?? I know for me most books in 3rd person, they drag complete ass with the villian plots and storyline(BDB ::ahem::, sorry Warden but it is what it is), I found myself looking forward to those breaks in the tale and was vastly entertained! Oh and Belliard vel Jelani, Chatokkai: First General. Leader of all Fey armies. He really plays an integral part in Ely's emersion in the world of the fey and she saves him from a lifetime of torment. Once a warrior sees so much war and carnage he becomes desinsitized and numb. Never finding love and fulfillment and inevitably becomes a Dahl'Reisen(lost soul) which is dishonorable amongst the fey or Sheisan’dahlein, the fey honor death. Unknowingly, Ely heals Bel using spirit and he pledges to protect her for all time. He's also Rain's bestfriend and they're banter is funny as hell at times, its really great to see the once reclusive Rainer express his lighter side. Rain has entered uncharted territory, courting a mortal woman in Celeiria is not something that he's well versed at and Rain doesn't do uncertainty well.....

Rain drew in his breath at the sudden rush of feelings that sprang from the simple feel of her skin meeting his. The strength of his connection to this young Celierian went so far beyond what he had felt for Sariel, he could hardly fathom it. She was so young, so incredibly new to the world and to him, and yet regardless of the cost to his soul, Rain would destroy anyone and anything that dared to stand between them. And if any dared to harm her, he would shred them without mercy and dance as he drank their blood. Ellysetta misunderstood the fierce look on his face, because she snatched her hand back and apologized for touching him.

Ellysetta misunderstood the fierce look on his face, because she snatched her hand back and apologized for touching him. “Nei, do not apologize.” Rain could barely restrain himself from reaching for that hand and
putting it back on his skin. His fingers itched to do so, and he clenched them into fists. He craved her touch, ached for it as only a Fey warrior could. But admitting to his need was the same as admitting a weakness, something a Fey rarely did willingly. “I was merely surprised. You may touch me if you like.”

But she didn’t lay that sweet hand upon him again. He cursed his own unguarded reaction that had cost him such a small but much-desired pleasure and wondered how he might contrive to get it back. He bent his head to her, his gaze intent as he willed her to touch him again. To his disgruntlement, she did not. Laughter sounded in his mind. Laughter he recognized but had not heard in any form for centuries. «Bel?» He turned to his old friend in disbelief. Though to most, the solitary Fey would still appear blank as a wall, Rain knew better. Bel’s dark eyes glinted with amusement, and the grim stoicism of his face was less pronounced. There was even the faintest crinkling at the corners of his eyes—humor struggling to find expression. «If you could see yourself, Rain. Pouting like a tzicaida whose lunch just got away.» The corner of Bel’s mouth actually twitched. «You could always just command her to put her hand back on you.»

All in all, Awesome fecking book. Must read!!! Beylah vo C.L. Wilson for creating such an extraordinary world! Ke vo'san!!

My beloved is the sun And I am the earth that thrives only in her warmth. My beloved is the rain And I am the grass that thirsts for her quenching kiss. My beloved is the wind And I am the wings that soar when she fills me with her gentle strength. My beloved is the rock Upon which rests the happiness of all my days. —The Elements of Love, a poem by Aileron v’En Kavali of the Fey-

Review: The Dead I Owe

The Dead I Owe by Julie Ann Michaels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Destined for greatness in the corporate world, Olivia Dahl's only regret is that an ideal love life eludes her. After crossing paths with the irresistible vampire, Benjamin Ward, Olivia is propelled into the middle of a demon invasion and forced to rely on the vampire that took her life. Olivia fights to save the city from being overrun by demons while resisting her unyielding attraction to Benjamin.

Together, can they stop a demon invasion? Can Olivia learn to forgive the Vampire that changed her life forever?

In a world of vampires, demons, and heady revelations, Olivia struggles to find new purpose.

This was a great and fast paced read! I recieved this from the author and the blurb looked good enough to give it a go. Boy am I glad I did!

After a date with Mr.Wrong, Olivia's sick of being alone. But finding "The One" is not as easy as she thought. Meeting the sexy Benjamin after her unimpressed date gives her hope that there are some great guys out there, unfortunately when she wakes up the next morning she realizes Benjamin has turned her into a vampire then she's thrust into a war between the vamps and demons! A chance meeting with Olivia and never in his wildest dreams did he intend for her to be his progeny. All he wanted to do was get some nookie and some blood and be on his merry little way but he never intended on enjoying her company then losing control.  Now he's got a sexy, foul mouthed and headstrong, baby vampire to take care of along with a war between Demons and Vampires. Him and those of his brethren are the only ones who stand in the way of Demons enslaving humans and becoming a scourge of the earth. Demons drink the blood of humans as well but the problem is, thats its an addiction to them and they almost always kill their victims, whereas vampires need humans to survive so they tend not to kill their victims. There's change erupting in the underworld, the heir to the throne is hiding in the human realm and the current ruler of the Demons is after her and wants her dead so he can continue to rule. Unfortunately she believes she is human and since her powers have yet to emerge she's a sitting duck until that happens. Now its up to Olivia and Ben to find her and protect her before the Demons get to her because she's the only one who can stop the Demons from crossing over into the human realm. The problem is...when she realizes who she is, will she want to close the gates and stop them from taking over the human realm?

All in all, I greatly enjoyed this read and am eagerly anticipating the next book in this series! I recommend this to all Paranormal Romance fans!

Fire Burnin'

Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Released June 26th by Avon

"You think my blood is the only tie between us?"
His voice was low, yet edged with palpable hunger. It seemed to rub me in places I'd only ever touched before, making my anger fade under a flash of desire. Vlad was so close that his hair was a shadowy veil all around me, and when he began to caress my face with light, sure strokes, it was all I could do not to close my eyes in bliss.
"This is our true tie," he whispered, his breath falling hotly onto my lips. "You're meant for me, and I will have you."

A tragic accident leaves Leila disfigured and with supernatural powers where she can connect to someones past, present and future with just a mere touch as well as the power to channel electricity. Finding herself disowned by the only family she has and working as a sideshow freak in a carnival, Leila along with her best friend Marty, a midget vampire, she's starting to build a life for herself and survive the best way she knows how. But an accident at the local bar, her anonymity is threatened and is no longer just Frankie the carnie, she attracts the attention of some evil vamps that kidnap her and she's forced to locate the infamous Vlad.

Vlad Tepesh, master vampire and fierce protector of his line, he runs his vamps with an iron fist. But a chance meeting with the lovely Leila, threatens his emotionless existence and awakens feelings believed to be long destroyed. Together with Leila its a race to uncover the vampire set out to destroy him. And now that he has Leila he's desperate to keep her by his side.

After finding out that Jeaniene Frost was adding another spin-off to her Night Huntress series and it featuring the sexy, cocksure, enigmatic Vlad I was ecstatic to say the least! But imagining it and reading it are two different things. In one word A-fucking-mazing! Vlad and Leila are more than I expected and I enjoyed every page of this book. As I read it in like a day.

Vlad was certainly a cocky bastard and Leila is a perfect counterpart for him. She's fierce, strong and totally kick ass! She was able to keep up with him physically and their banter was great. She's definitely a woman that knew how to get her way and fought for what she believed in. One of my favorite scenes is when she wanted to set a trap for the bigbad in the story, where she was trying to get Vlad on the same page....she tried her best to stroke his ego so-to-speak(not that she needed to..its already big enough as it is):

"Not Dracula," I said with a faint smile as I turned around. "Vlad Tepesh former viovode of Wallachia and the most arrogant, deadly, frightening man I've ever met."

His lips curled with disdainful amusement. "Compliments won't sway me more than the word please, Leila."

"You take those as complements?" Gretchen was incredulous.

"Of course." His smile bared fangs. "She named all my best qualities."

Not being able to touch anyone with out killing them and/or causing them serious harm, Leila has had to face some serious obstacles add that to knowing all the sins of those she's touched and everyday life for her is a struggle. But the through it all Leila still kept her spunk! All her challenges, she still had serious lady balls and I loved that about her. She was able to keep up with Vlad and his cockiness.

"You're hot, big deal," I shot back, refusing to let his knowledge of my most intimate thoughts daunt me. "I'm attracted to a lot of hot guys. If Chris Hemsworth were here, I'd light him up like a firecracker with how fast I'd jump on him."

"And that would kill him," Vlad noted.

Speaking of...Vlad was just wonderful! He was definitely his fierce, alphalicious self and I fell in love all over again! Fans of the Night Huntress series will just gobble this one up...I know I did! His self assuredness knows know bounds which made for an enjoyable read.

"If I didn't want you so much", he said in a deadly purr, "I'd let you keep fucking me with your gaze, but you're making me impatient."

All in all, awesome start to a series that has me begging for more. I found myslef laughing out loud and fanning myself on many occasions. Leila and Vlad are the best couple second to Cat and Bones and I'm dying to read more about these two....especially since we were left with a tantalizing line from dear Leila:

"Get ready, Vlad," I whispered into the empty room. "This is far from over."

Review: Bloodright by Karin Tabke

Bloodright by Karin Tabke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"You are much more than the woman i love; you are the mirror of my soul. We are one. The same."

Bloodright continues where Blood Law left off. With the Blood Law avenged, but not in the way Lucien has always wished. He takes Falon as his mate instead of killing her. Now Falon is whisked away to the Mondragon Pack with the rakish Lucien...but he's a temptation she is powerless to fight! Since the future of the Lycan race is in their hands she must become his mate and think of the Pack instead of herself. With the Blood Moon aproaching and the battle getting closer, Mondragon and Vulkasin must unite for them ever having a chance at defeating the Slayers.

This series really just set the bar for me! Lucien was so damned sexy and I found myself loving him more than Rafe. He really is misunderstood! And Falon...she really was just dumped into an impossible situation. She meets Rafe.... hellbent on sacrificing her to his brother for slaughter to rectify a blood feud she had nothing to do with....falling in love with Rafe. Then being offered up as a trophy to Lucien to be his mate.... then having to be his mate and put her feelings and broken heart aside for the good of the Lycan race. I really felt sorry for her especially knowing her feelings for Rafe and knowing that since the Blood Law was avenged he was to take another mate so Pack Vulkasin can flourish. Then her connection to Lucien grows deeper than she ever expected it to. And poor Lucien just wants someone to love him!

All in all, this was a great addition to the series and I cannot wait to find out what happens in the conclusion! I highly recommend this to fans of PNR...namely ones with shifters. This is a must read! I swear I gobbled it up in a day!

Review: Blood Law by Karin Tabke

Blood Law by Karin Tabke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"By all that is holy, Falon, how can I not want to make love to you when your body calls to mine? How can I not think of making love to you when I see your love for me shine in your eyes? Tell me, how am I not to think of the most sacred act between a man and a woman when I am with you?"
Hot tears burned her eyes. He kissed them away.
"My love, the day I stop thinking of having sex with you is the day you bury me."

Rafael and Lucien...twin brothers. One of light the other dark. Both...because of the slaughter of their parents when they were youths are both leaders of their pack. Upon returning from his spiritual request , Rafael discovers his brother under the thrall of a Slayer( the bane of their existence). Slayer's are magic wielding hunters of the Lycan kind and to lay with one is to die. Lucien has his heart set on marking the female Slayer as his mate but Rafe sees her for who she really is and murders rips our her heart while his brother is banging her.

Of course a huge battle between the brothers ensues and they almost kill each other. Lucien demands Blood Law...which means that once Rafe takes a mate she is Luciens to kill! An eye for an eye. So the division of the Packs has begun and the brothers are forever enemies. For years Rafe has refrained from taking a mate not wanting to give his brother the satisfaction. But a chance meeting with Falon has him torn. Time is running out...the final battle between the Slayers and the Lycans is fast approaching and the future of the entire Lycan  race is on Rafe's shoulders if he can sacrifice Falon to his brother.

I absolutely loved this book. Ima HUGE sucker for a good shifter book every since I read Shifter series by Rachel Vincent! But his one is way more steamier. The Lycan Lore in this world is pretty interesting. from the induction of the Slayers to the Packs as a unit. Since this blood feud between Rafe and Lucien Lycans are in danger of extinction. Since neither of them has taken a mate no others in the Pack can....the same goes for having children.

Rafe literally is backed against the wall. For 7years he's been adamant that his brothers would be mate was a Slayer. Lucien in his heart of hearts believes Rafe killed his mate, his love, so he can be the only Alpha. Then he meets Falon and initially is prepared to sacrifice her  so he can take a real Lycan mate and their Pack can flourish. But the more time he spends with Falon the more he starts to question giving her up!

Falon is no damsel by no stretch of the imagination. She's tough and has some nifty powers of her own. And once she learns of her proposed fate....she's not going down without a fight! I love that about her.

Lucien is not the only one who has his sights on Falon. Recognizing a fighter and a worthy mate in her own right but also wanting to get his revenge. An eye for an eye.

All in all, great start to a series that can also be in my top ten! It has everything a good PNR should have; hot, steamy sex scenes, intrigue, drama, blood, guts, Two Delicious Alpha Males, a Kick-Ass Alpha Female and a cliffhanger that will kill you!

Review: Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris

Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sookie's still living with her two fairy-kin. Someones trying to kill Sookie....big fucking surprise! She finds a secret letter from her Gran. Eric's hiding something, Pam is awesome, Bill still gets on my nerves....fucking pest! Victor is still around....Oh and Bubba makes an appearance!

THE END......

No seriously:

The first half of the book was uneventful...was like watching paint dry actually. But the last 100 pages or so were good...especially up til the end! I loved the battle at the end, nice and bloody! Eric was great...when he was around. I think my issues with this book is the dragging out with the fairy bullshit. I just wish the whole agenda gets resolved and whoever is really out to get Sookie will just get it done already!

What I found annoying was Sookie and her vacillating! She plans Victor's demise for how long? Then when the smoke clears she's "uneasy" about the results....actually pissed is more accurate. I just wish she would make up her mind and woman up! She's still her funny, sometimes bubbly self and at times judgmental. Especially when it came to Alcide....what he did was fucking dumb but saying that she didn't like who he has become....wah?? He's the head of his Pack....he has to have some kind of superiority...some swag! He can't be a push over still pinning for you, waiting for you to leave the fucking vamps alone can he??? I'm starting to question you Sookie......Hello!! Don't get me wrong...I do love Eric! And I want them to work. And Pam is just great but I just don't think they are conducive to her needs. Well what she believes she needs...a.k.a. family...kids, what not!

Although this was not one of my favorites of the series, Im still excited to find out where CH will take us with Sookie's story! Im PRAYING that Sookie doesn't end up with Sam! PLEASE PLEASE! Don't let it be that! I'm still holding out for Quin since at least he can give her kids and a normal lifel....for the most part.

Review: Dire Needs by Stephanie Tyler

Dire Needs by Stephanie Tyler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The full moon is their mistress. They are predators of pleasure and pain. Feared by humans, envied by werewolves, the Dire Wolves are immortal shifters, obeying no laws but their own bestial natures. Once they were many, but now only six remain, a dangerous wolfpack forever on the hunt…

Rifter leads the pack, embracing the lifestyle and ethics of an outlaw biker even as he battles an ancient enemy who has become a new, powerful force. But with his Brother Wolf raging inside him, howling to be unleashed, he needs to satisfy his hungers. And when he meets a drop-dead gorgeous blonde drinking alone in a bar that caters to both human and inhuman, Rifter’s primal instinct is to claim her.

Gwen has her own desires, long unfulfilled. She hopes a passionate night with the leather-clad, Harley-riding biker will ease her suffering. The seizures that have wracked her body her entire life are incurable—and they’re killing her.

But none of that will matter if Rifter can’t stop the growing threat to them all–trappers who are determined to enslave humankind and use the Dire wolves as part of their nefarious plan.
__________________________________________
I thought it was a great start to a series. It did get slow at times but I really did love and hate the characters. I really liked the interactions between Gwen and Rifter. He's fighting the urge to mate with her, knows its impossible because she's human. Gwen is dying, her seizures are killing her and she's decided to cease taking the medication and live her last days on her terms. She was a tough cookie and I loved that! She really needs to be, being with Rifter and the Dires.

Vice....my absolute favorite of the Dires, has that name for a reason. He's a slave to his vices and a sexy mofo!! I pretty much fell in love with all the Dires....even Harm! The Dire King who gave up his crown to Rifter!

Who I didnt like was that bitch Max....every good book has to have the asshat or cuntbag of the story and she fits it perfectly! And the weretrappers and the witches are nuttier than fruit cakes!! I loved it!!

All in all great steamy read and good start to a series. Oh and the shout out to Eidolon was funny! Im excited to read Strays story! Fans of shifter stories will dig this!!

Unfortunately, she meets the enigmatic Aiden.....who tells her she must destroy her drug and its dangerous. She's not having it....its her life's work. Being so close to saving her parents she's decided to protect her work no matter what this sexy mystery man says despite feelings she starts to develop for him.

Time is running out for both of them. Can Leila take him for his word and destroy everything that means so much to her for the sake of the world? And if she's helbent on keeping the drug, will Aiden beable to dispatch her??

This was a great start to a series!I was sucked in from the very begining. Aiden is super sexy and Leila is the perfect complement to him. I cant wait to read the next one! Tina Folsom definitely has a winner here! Its absolutely a MUST read!

Review: Lover Reborn by J.R. Ward

Lover Reborn by J.R. Ward
Published March 27th by NAL
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Now thats what Im talking about!!! My favorite of the series now! My poor poor Tohrment!! Still dealing with the lost of his darling Welsie and his unborn son, Tohr is totally fucked! Since he can't let go of them in his grief, they are stuck in the Inbetween not passing on unto the Fade! If Tohr doesn't let go soon, Welsie and thier son will be trapped there forever...never passing on!

Lassiter, Tohr angel was given the task of making sure Tohr lets go so Welsie and thier son can be freed! But time is running out and now that he has discovered a way to help Tohr move on, he's not sure it will work. He's throwing a hailmary praying to the Maker its enough.

No'One...Xhex's mahmen, has history with Tohr. Being rescued from that awful sympath, some centuries back, by Tohr and Darius. She was also taken care of throughuot her pregnancy by the two. After giving birth to Xhex, she killed herself with Tohr's blade, she was never allowed to pass onto the Fade. She was able to leave the Santcuary of the Chosen to take care of Payne(Vishous' twin) and now is staying to get to know her long lost daughter. Now that she sees how broken Tohr is, she's decided to help Tohr move on.....Goodluck with that I said at first!

I just new I would love it! So many ups and downs in this one! I almost died towards the end....really was on the verge of killing my kindy!! But I refrained....Cant wait to read Qhuinn and Blays book!!

Enough, Qhuinn thought. Enough with the excuses, and the avoidance, and the trying to be someone, anyone else. Even if he got shanked, even if his precious little ego and his dumb-ass little heart got shattered into a million pieces, it was time to stop the bullshit.

It was time to be a male. As Blay started to straighten, like a message had been received, Qhuinn thought, That’s right, buddy.

Our future has come.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also we have the Xcor and his crazy, Band of Bastards! Xcor and his crew has left the Old Country and set sail for Caldwell in the hopes of over throwing Wrath(The Blind King). Since civilians have been plagued with raids and tragedy, he believes Wrath and the Brotherhood isn't doing their job. They think the BDB is soft and thinks the throne is up for the taking.

This book was awesome in my opinion! No skipping over the lessor parts! Xcor and the BoB are pretty damn interesting as well as ill informed. They don't know whats really been going on in Caldwell, the reason for the raids. Not knowing about the Omega and Lash and the part they played in all the drama. Now that Lash has been defeated Caldwell is not as bad as it used to be...as far as the Lessors go. Hopefully they will band together! I kinda like the BoB and I think Xcor is misunderstood! I really think they can work together, I really do! Here's hoping!

All in all, Fantastic installment to the series! Can't wait to read the next one! All fans of the BDB will love this! At least I hope!:) This was one wild wild ride...the surprises in this book are doozies lemme tell ya!!

Swan and the Bear by Eve Langlais

Swan And The Bear by Eve Langlais
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Since Miranda and Ethan defeated the mastermind behind the abductions and experimentation he's hellbent on revenge. But getting to the crazy bunny and her grumpy bear has proved near impossible. So he sets his sights on the next best thing....Ethan's brother Mason.

As an undercover agent, Mason's mission is to protect the shifter community and by extension the lovely chocolate swan Jessie. She's the tech wiz of the FUC and is in danger since the evil mastermind is suddenly after her. But Jessie doesnt want his type of protection. She's knows he's a ladies man and doesnt do one-night-stands. But after spending quality time with him, her defenses are breaking and realizes this sexy bear is quite irresistible.

What I loved about this was Mason's willingness to convince Jessie that he was serious about her. He constantly chased her, and annoyed her it was quite entertaining! Sometimes I just wanted to slap her though. She just didnt get it and was so insecure...but whatevs! It made for an entertaining and delightful story.

All in all, I thought it was great. Not as good as the last one. Maybe since Jessie was more like a damsel in distress compared to Miranda....who was totally kick ass and hilarious! But it was a good and satisfying read. Can't wait to find out whats next in the FUC world....

Review

Zane's Redemption by Tina Folsom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 5 of the Scaguards Vampire Series by Tina Folsom focuses on Zane. The onery loner vampire of the Scanguards crew. Since brutally murdering a rapist one night Samson decides he's fed up with Zane's antics. So instead of firing him, him and Gabriel try to teach him a lesson. But babysitting a snobish half-breed princess is the last thing Zane excpects. Neither is his fierce attraction to her.

Portia's a half-breed and she realizes her over-bearing Vampire Father has assigned a body guard to keep her from getting out of control while he's away. She soon finds out that the real reason for this is to stop her from losing her virginity. Once she reaches 21st birthday her body will stop aging and she will be a virgin forever. Time is running out for her and meeting Zane gives her an idea to make him her first no matter what daddy dearest has to say about it.

First off, I would like to say that this is the best of the Scanguards series! We find out a lot about the reason for Zane's cruelty and ongoing rage. He's a hollocaust survivor and his lifes mission is to find all the evil Nazis who turned him and made his life misserable. Then his willingness to protect Portia from a horrible fate of being a virgin forever. There were a lot of hilarious moments as well as heartbreaking momements where we got to see first hand the tragedy of Zanes life when he and his family was taken to a concentration camp when he was a young man.

I greatly enjoyed the banter and the sexual tension between Zane and Portia from the momemnt they met.

Pride dictated that he not let her win this argument. “You know nothing about me, and you never will.” She didn’t turn as she set her foot on the first stair. Her words were low as she murmured as if talking to herself, but he heard them all the same. “Watch your back, tough guy.” Watch yours, or you’ll find yourself on it soon, he wanted to respond but didn’t.

Zane realized that he wanted Portia right away and was scared that once he did...he wouldnt beable to let her go. I was quite surprised that we got to see a softer and more vurernable side to him. But it didnt take away from the fierceness that I grew to love about him as well.

Zane averted his eyes so Portia wouldn’t detect his lie. Yes, he was rough, but with her, he could care; with her, he would see that she enjoyed it. For her, he could do that. But he didn’t want her to know, because this was never going to happen. If he took Portia, he’d consume her, devour her, and then, when she wanted to leave him, he’d force her to stay with him, because he wouldn’t be able to let her go. One taste of her, and he knew that much with certainty. There was no need to tempt fate and take this any further.

There were some parts of this story that I found it tough to read. Zane's self-hatred of his heritage...I didnt see that one coming at all. And also, when Zane tried to explain to Samson that Portia's father was forcing her to remain a virgin forever. It was extremely frustrating when Samson refused to see reason and always assumed the worst in Zane....grrrr! But in the end, they all realized what was going on and I forgave him(sorta). This was a story of redemption, forgiveness and love. Also, the old adage, never judge a book by its cover. Zane was always put into a certain bracket, and I learned that he was much more than that. He really wanted someone to love and love him back. He didnt think he was worthy of that love because he always saw himself as a dirty jew, as it was ingrained in him when he was captured. But Portia saw the good in him showed him that he was worthy of love. I don't want to give anything away, since there's a lot of surprises and twists in this installment. But what I will say is that the is the best vampire romance that Iv read in a while. Please read this series...you won't be dissapointed in the least. I also can't wait to see what going on with Thomas and Eddie.....Hope they are next?????

The Guardian by Sherrilyn Kenyon

The Guardian (Dark-Hunter, #21; Dream-Hunter, #5)The Guardian by Sherrilyn Kenyon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seth is guardian to the evil Noir. He's been released from his constant torture so that he can retrieve the key to Olympus from Solin. Its said that he's the only Dream-Hunter who knows were the key is. If Noir gets his hands on the key, he and his Azura will rule the world. Time is runing out for Seth....if Solin doesn't break soon, he will go back to the pits and be tortured for all eternity.
Lydia, Were-Hunter and Dream-Hunter, has gone to Azmodea to retrieve Solin from Noir's evil cluthes. When she finally gets there, she's kidnapped by Seth and gives Solin 3 days to retrieve the key or Lydia dies.
How is it that after all of the DH books...this is my favorite?? Because SK is the author thats why!!! Each on of these books gets better and better. You would think since this is like the 21st book in the DH world that by now they would get boring...but no! They just keep getting better!
Lydia was a fierce warrior...being raised by Solin, she would have to be. But I loved the fact that she stood her ground with the scary ass Seth. And poor Seth....he was tortured by his family and everyone he has ever known for 4500 years. I thought Acheron had it bad but I think Seth has him pretty darn beat. I have a soft spot  for tortured hero's and you can't get more tortured than Seth.

I just LOVED this next book in the series...can't wait to find out what the hell is going on with the Jaden/Jared fiasco...Im on tender hooks now.....I was excited to see some Jaden in this one...

"He's under attack. Are you sure we can't help him?"

Jaden sent her a mocking stare. " Sure lets go get him pinned to Noir's wall for a week, shall we? Im quite certain that will thrill him to no end, and make make us all feel better that you care so much."

'"You don't have to be so sarcastic."

"I can't help it. I sucked sarcasm straight from my mothers breast."

I just love him....
All in all, This was a super winner to me! It really reminded me of why I fell in love with the series in the first place! It was a great quick read and a wild ride that had me tearing up at times as well as, "Woot!" -ting for the good guys!

de Sang: Embrace Your Blood Lust by C.D. Hussey!!!

de Sang: Embrace Your Blood Lustde Sang: Embrace Your Blood Lust by C.D. Hussey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG....I love this series!! Thank you CD Hussey for providing me a copy of this book to review!!

In this sequel to La Luxure: Discover Your Blood Lust by C.D. Hussey, we folllow Kate. The outcast of her family with a secret lust for men with a goth edge. Since moving to the Big Easy, she's tried to map out a life for herself. With a great eye for art, she works part-time at a gallery. One of her favorite artists Lohr Varius is having a big show at her gallery and is quite smitten with Kate.

There were a million stories on the Internet regarding Lohr Varius. As the self-proclaimed king of the vampires, most of them surrounded his love of blood and blood play. Looking into his electric blue eyes, she didn't doubt those stories for a second. She'd dismissed the darker, more twisted rumors — he killed his subjects himself, or he was actually 150 years old — as nothing more than hype. She wasn't sure she could discount any of them now that she'd met the man in person. It did make him even more intriguing.

After her meeting with Lohr...shes got vampires on the brain. She's somewhat familiar with the Living Vampire subculture but always believed it to be an urban legend. But her encounter with Lohr, she's wondering if its really true. So Kate decides to see what all the hype is about with the Living Vampire culture and goes looking for La Luxure....

Slade...a Living Vampire, The Italian Stallion/Bartender at La Luxure. Since seeing his best friend Armand and his new wife Julia, he's starting to realize that he's sick of the single life. He no longer wants just a Donor. But a Donor/Lover and he thinks he might have found her in Kate.

Kate thinks Slade is a playboy....and she's also not sure why she's even attracted to him since Lohr Varius is more her type. So on goes the cat and mouse game with Kate and Slade....they really are made for each other.....

I liked this one more than the first one...if at all possible! I loved Slade in this, which was surprising cuz I didnt like him much in the first one. He was too judgemental when it came to Julia. But whatevs....I lovem now! Maybe its the fauxhawk...yummm!! This is a really cool world that Hussey has created with the Living Vamps...I just love it! If you're looking for something steamy thats not quite paranormal, but different...then please give it a try! Im sure glad I did!!

The Darkest Surrender

The Darkest Surrender (Lords of the Underworld, #8)The Darkest Surrender by Gena Showalter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok...In this next installment of The Lords of The Underworld Series we follow Strider the smart-ass and jokester of the bunch a.k.a...Keeper of Defeat. Of course he has to win everything or else his demon will cause him extreme pain. The Lords are still searching for the artifacts which will lead them to dimOuniak—Pandora’s box. Because he gave up the cloak of invisibility to the Unspoken Ones's...in exchange of Haidee, now the Lords are short two artifacts instead of one. Strider's still being stalked by Kaia....a harpy and sister to Gwen, Sabin's(Doubt) wife. He doesn't want anything to do with her since she always challenges his Demon.

Kaia The Dissapointment...has been plagued with that name for 15 hundred years by her people. She made a grave mistake at the Harpy Games, when she was just 15 years old and caused a lot of Harpies to die. So now that her family has been invited to the Harpy Games after all this time....Kaia must bring home the gold or die. Unfortunately, the 1st prize is one of the artifacts...The Paring Rod. So Kaia has a decision to make. Does she help her consort and bring more shame on herself(and a death warrant) or does she take the gold and lose her chance at forever with Strider?

Of course, I loved this addition to the series! I absolutely adored Kaia...she was fierce and sexy and she did whatever it took to snag her a Lord!! She knew without a doubt that Strider was hers and made it very clear that she would have him. Strider on the other hand was not so receptive. He tried pushing her away as much as he could but eventually he succumbed! It was great to see the two of them banter with each other. In the beginning Strider believed he didnt want someone like Kaia. One that would challenge his Demon time and time again. But he soon realized that a life like that would be bo-ring! We got a more in-depth look into the Harpy world which was awesome! Those Harpies are a fierce bunch! I also had some serious LOL moments with Kaia and Bianka!

"Lysander, did you see this?", Bianka turned and lifted her shirt, showing him--and everyone else--the panties she wore. They were neon-green with the words Property of Lysandy scripted across the ass.

Lysander stood, as if to fly over to her, then caught himself and plopped back down. "Sweet Deity."

"Your woman wears underwear out in public," Sabin said. "Must be nice. How'd you manage that little miracle?"

"Only the Deity knows."

We also, got to see William on his quest to kill Gilly's parents, Paris and his search for Sienna(I cant wait!!!) and Kane(Disaster)....you'll just have to read to find out what his deal is! What I will say its pretty damn good!!

All in all, I had a great time with my Lords!! Strider and Kaia did not disappoint one bit nor did Strider's cockiness:

"I love you," she told him. "Thats because you're smart. Further proof--look who you ended up with. Me, rather than that shithead Paris."

Its amazing to me how each book gets better and better and each Lord earns a place in my heart....as well as the heroines that keep them in line!! Kaia has become my all time Favorite though(sorry Anya)!

The Hunt by Heather-Killough-Walden!!!

The Hunt (The Big Bad Wolf #4)The Hunt by Heather Killough-Walden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this 4th installment to The Big Bad Wolf Series Byron Caige has been a prisoner for the last fifty years of his supernaturally long life. Just when he gives up hope of ever knowing the taste of freedom again, he is unwittingly rescued by the very same woman who only wants to see him dead. Katherine Dare - Kat - is smart, fast, strong and beautiful - but unfortunately she's a Hunter, and she's convinced that Byron murdered her father twenty years ago.

She's also Byron's dormant.

This wasnt my favorite of the series and I was a bit bored at times. But once I got halfway through it I was quite entertained. To me this was a story of redemption and second chances. For Kat...it was realizing how wrong she was about Byron and the werewolf community. Since seeing Byron at her fathers dead body....then seeing him flash into a wolf soon after she always believed him to have killed her dad. And she took her frustrations out on all werewolves and became a hunter. Actually one of thier most respected and lethal killers. Once realizing her wrong doings...Kat is determined to redeem herself and save the werewolf community from an evil curse. Then there's Byron captivity and finally his escape from Malachai Wraythe's daughter.

All in all, this a great addition to the series. There were some hot and steamy moments and some heartfelt moments as well. Especially when Byron and Lucas reunite. Although this isnt my fav of the series,I still greatly enjoyed it. I love this world that Heather has created and its really quite original. Can't wait to find out what else is instore for my favorite wolves......

Wings of Fire by Caris Roane!!!

Wings of Fire (World of Ascension, #3)Wings of Fire by Caris Roane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"The search is futile When carried out by the avenging heart. —Collected Proverbs, Beatrice of Fourth."

Warrior Antony Medichi has been searching for his breh Parissa Lovejoy for 3 months now. Pariasa, the famous Mortal with Wings has been taken by the evil Rith(loyal servant of Greaves). By night Medichi does his duty...fighting the death vamps and by day he does everything in his power to retrieve Parissa from Riths evil clutches.

This was by far my favorite of the series. There were a lot of other things going on in this world than just Parissa and Antony...which I greatly enjoyed! That Greaves is one EVIL mofo!! Parissa discovers that Greaves has been keeping Death and Ressurection slaves to keep his army and Administrators supplied with dying blood. While in captivity Parissa stumbles across Fiona...she finds out that she's Greaves oldest D and R slave and is appaled! She's been there for a hundred years. Once Parissa finally escapes she makes it her number one priority to save Fiona and the other slaves. I really admired her courage and her willingness to fight and not be a victim any longer.

The best part of this story was Antony and Parissa's love story. They really had a lot of reasons for not wanting to fall in love and acccept the breh-hedden. Since losing his wife and unborn child before his ascension, Medichi has lived a warriors life. Believing that his abilility to fall in love died along with his family. But Parissa is proof positive that he really can love and is scared shitless. Not only at love but the possiblity that he will fail her as he feels he did her and his wife. It was quite extrodinary to witness thier journey. And finally their surrender to one another and willingness to not live without the other!

"The first path seduces by promise, The second appeals to pride, But the worthy path demands surrender. —Collected Proverbs, Beatrice of Fourth"

Then there was the potential for another warrior and his breh. I just know I will adore Jean-Pierre's book!! That french accent just does it for me:)

All in all, I loved it loved it loved it! Love this series cant wait for the next one!

Oh and let me share my favorite quote in this one. Of course its from the baddest chica in literary history....Endelle!!

“You know, your speech patterns have changed. You used to be rather stiff in the ass. You’re loosening up. I think that’s a good thing. Medichi good in bed? Is that why you seem so different? Does he satisfy you? He should. He’s hung like a horse.”

I love her whit and barbs...cant wait to see who she ends up with! Its gonna be awesome:)

A Scent of Greek by Tina Folsom!!!

A Scent of Greek (Out of Olympus #2)A Scent of Greek by Tina Folsom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I dare say I liked this better than the first!!

Ladies!! Have you ever had a guy you started to fall for and then as soon as you give him ur goods he dumps you?!! Have you ever wanted to get revenge on said loser??? Well read this and you'll get your fix!!

In this wonderful sequel to A Touch of Greek Ariadne has finally met the one. After a major heart break the previous year from her ex-fiancee she's finally opened her heart and her bed to the ultra sexy Dio. When he doesn't call her the next day she's distraught..of course. Wanting to confront the loser she finds the ass a the bar flirting with a couple of bimbo's and what does he do when he see's her???You guessed it...he dumps her! Once leaving the bar later on that night she finds the cad in the alley behind the bar...all beat up and having no memory of who he is and how he got there. She she decides to tell him she's his fiancee!! Yeah...No kidding...LOL!! And let the good times ROLL!!!

Dionysus or Dio, is a philanderer....a complete womanizer. He has a one-nigh-stand rule....once he scores with a chick he dumps her. For two weeks now he's been putting the moves on Ariadne....and tonight is the night it finally pays off. He's never spent this much time trying to get a woman in his bed and he's quite put off by it. After his one night of bliss with the lovely Ari he starts getting these feelings that he's quite unfamiliar with. He's not sure one night will ever be enough for him with this woman and it scares the shit out of him so he dumps her!

Hera....wife of Zeus and stepmpother to Dio saw what Dio did to the poor Ariadne and is fed up with his philandering ways. In her eyes...he's just like his father and decides to teach him a lesson. So she wipes his memory and helps Ari execute her plan to finally destroy the God of wine and ecsatcy and give him a taste of his own medicine.

I loved loved loved this addition to the Out of Olympus series! I laughed sooooooo much!! Ari really taught Dio a lesson. He really deserved it cuz he was a complete ass!! You really have to read it to know what Im talking about..dont wanna spoil anything. But when Ari told Dio that they were abstaining from sex til marriage and that his drinking wine was the cause I chuckled! But when the poor Dio actually went to an AA meeting just so he could finally get in her good graces...I nearly fell of the BED!!! Im sorry...It was hilarious to me:)))

Anyhoo....Please go read this book!! I enjoyed it sooo much!! I really missed Tina's stories and reading this reminded me of why she's one of my favorites!!

Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais!!!

Defying Pack Law (Pack, #1)Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Warning: Reading this book may find you panting for three werewolves of your own. Please talk to your doctor before attempting the foursome scene portrayed in this book as it may result in numerous orgasms.

Eve always has the most intriguing warnings...God I love her!!

Since pack law states that woman have to share more than one mate...Dana has decided to run from her pack and her one true love. She's constantly on the run and is always looking over her sholder for eagar werewolves determinded to claim her. Unfortunately, a pack of wolves are hot on her trail and Dana must rely on her former beau Nathan to protect her from said evil pack.

Nathan has always been in love with Dana. Since her werewolf powers emerged...late in life. He was forced to share her with others in his pack....as per pack law. But now that he has taken control of the pack he decides to go in search of Dana...screw pack law. And finally claim his mate. But once he finally finds her and rescues her from some crazy rogues he finds out that his plans aren't as simple as he believed. His two best buds have recognized Dana as their mate and Dana's not as against a polyourous relationship as she used to.

This was awesomw...of course....helloooooo, Eve Langlais is the author!!:) What I love about this world is that the whole polymorous relationship is pretty cool. Its all about the womans pleasure....unfortunately, the women in this world don't have much of a choice in the sitch exept who and how many. I loved Dana's character...she was quite abrassive and loving at the same time. She didnt take shit! I especially loved how she handled herself when a very rude and eagar werewolf pup tried to claim her without her consent...

“Listen here, little boy. I don’t want to be claimed and really don’t give a shit what pack law says. In case you hadn’t noticed, I chose to live outside of one. If you want to live, I’d suggest you forget about trying to claim me. I’ve taken down much bigger wolves than you.” The pup’s face went slack with astonishment—only for a moment. Then male arrogance—also known as the dumbass syndrome—once again took over.

“You can’t threaten me like that, and you don’t get to decide what you want. Pack law says I can claim any unmarked female.” Dana’s patience snapped, and any squeamish feelings over what she had to do evaporated with his stance.

“Really? Is that your final answer? Because, just so you know, my law says any prick who tries to claim me against my will either loses his dick or dies. So, what’s your choice, puppy, because I’m losing patience really fucking fast.”

The men in Dana's life were feckin hawt as well. Nathan was all alpha male and was determined to claim her no matter what she said. It kinda frustrated me at times and he was awfully stubborn about it. To me, he pretty much threw her into the arms of the gorgeous, and patient Doctor(and his bff) John. Ahhh...John! He was wonderful...and was certainly my fav of the bunch. And Kody...the youngest of her perspective mates was hilarious.

It was quite enjoyable to see Dana needle Nathan when he was being all caveman on her. Especially when she told him she wanted to claim 4 mates....FUNNY!!

All in all, if you're looking for a light and funny PNR with a super naughty twist...then this is it!

Bunny and The Bear by Eve Langlais!!!

Bunny And The BearBunny And The Bear by Eve Langlais
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Warning: Pies were harmed in the making of this story and naughty references made about honey that might offend some readers.

Well I for one was not deterred from that warning.....

Miranda is a very energetic and happy bunny. She works for the FUC....no kidding...Furry United Coalition. Basically she's a secret agent in the shifter community. She's been assigned to protect her onery bear shifter neighbor Chase. There's been a lot of dissapearances among the shifter community and Alpha's are being targeted. Words out that Chase is next so she must get close to him and protect him at all costs.

Chase is a grizzly-bear shifter. He's ornery and knows exactly what he wants in life. He hates all things chipper and peppy so when he meets Miranda he's very disturbed by the fact he cant get her off his mind. He, in no way, shape or form willl ever settle down with a shifter outside his caste. He feels bears and woodland creatures, like Miranda should never mix. But the more Miranda keeps bumping into him he's not so sure thats accurate.

I fell in love with Miranda from the start! She was an excellent example of not judging a book by its cover. Although she seemed like a ditz she really wasnt. She was intelligent and she kicked major ass!! I loved how she constantly tested Chase's patience. He was such a stick-in-the-mud....she really did bring him out of his shell!

One day, still several years in the future, he’d settle down with a sow and pop out the customary cub or two. He already had a list of requirements for a mate; quiet, tidy, a good cook, and easy on the eyes. In other words, boring and not likely to disrupt his life. His brother, who’d heard his list, snorted he needed a housekeeper. He never repeated it after Chase knocked his front teeth out. Calm and controlled didn’t mean he didn’t have a wicked left hook. Back to his wish list, there was nothing wrong with wanting a docile partner who wouldn’t interfere too much in his life.

Not like a certain bunny who would probably make each day a new adventure where’d he have to fight to keep his sanity. Where he’d be expected to share his food and bed while being subjected to inane chatter. Where the sex would be copious, sweaty and frantic. Why oh why can’t I stop thinking of her like that?

I just loved and sometimes hated his inner monalouge about why she shouldnt be with Miranda. She was really the ying to his yang.....
Toward the middle of the story Chase started to realize his prejudice of woodland creatures was just dumb and he really started to fall for Miranda ***sigh***!

My favorite part of this book was when Chase was kidnapped by the evil of the story and Miranda came to his rescue.....

Disbelief made him choke. “Do not tell me you intend to engage them in hand-to-hand combat. Are you insane? They have guns.”

“Good point.” She tossed the knife and began to strip.

“Um, Miranda what are you doing?”

“Getting naked.”

“I see that.” Oh did he ever, and the sight was making him hard even given the situation.“I’m afraid to ask what for.” Maybe one last quickie before they died?

“There’s too many for me to fight in this form. I’m going to unleash my beast.”

Great, she finally meant to escape. Or did she? “Are you going to get some help then?”

Vivid green eyes turned his way, and her lips quirked up on one side. “Why would I do that?” A sound in the hall made her turn away from him. “Don’t worry. Me and my bunny will save you.”
